	The National Literacy Secretariat :: The National Literacy Secretariat was established by authorization of Cabinet in 1987 and has been actively involved since 1988 in working with its partners to promote literacy in Canada. The NLS works to promote literacy as an essential component for a learning society and to make Canada's social, economic and political life more accessible to people with weak literacy skills.
	National Adult Literacy Database :: NALD gathers, sorts, stores and makes available information on literacy programming, resources, services, contacts, events, awards, funding sources, and, most importantly, resources that can be used in the learning situation thereby leveling the playing field somewhat in an often resource-poor adult education environment. NALD's information is gleaned from across Canada, and, as technology permits, the world.
	ABC Canada :: ABC CANADA is a joint initiative of business and labour, supporting the development of a fully literate Canadian population by raising awareness in the general public and in the private sector and by providing support to local literacy groups across the country.
	Movement for Canadian Literacy :: Movement for Canadian Literacy is a non-profit organization representing many literacy coalitions, organizations, and individuals from every province and territory.
	Laubach Literacy of Canada :: Laubach Literacy of Canada is a charitable organization committed to raising national literacy awareness. This organization also provides trained tutors for people to improve their basic skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, numeracy and other life skills.
	Nova Scotia Literacy Organizations :: A comprehensive list of Nova Scotian organizations that advocate literacy, lifelong learning, education and literacy awareness across the province. This collection of links is part of the NALD database.
	Nova Scotia Department of Education :: EDnet is the on-line education gateway to adult learning and innovation. It provides individuals with lifelong learning opportunities.
	Frontier College :: Frontier College is a national network of volunteer tutors, youth and adult learners, and popular education professionals who teach literacy skills such as reading and writing.
	TOWES. Test of Workplace Essential Skills :: TOWES (Test of Workplace Essential Skills) is a new test of workplace essential skills, which was developed in Canada. The TOWES project now has a bank of test items, which, collectively, form an assessment tool to measure essential skills in workplace settings. The assessment tool resulting from this project is significantly different from other tests of literacy skills. It has sufficient items to discriminate across the full range of skill levels demanded by jobs in Canadian work-places. The test content is based on work-place documents and item responses mimic workplace tasks.
